OK did this the other day to see if I could......have done it before last year........twice.....:rolleyes: still not sure if it's any better or not....here is the other two times that i did it here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60894) and here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60894)

BARB they werent painted by the same person, or, the person that painted them has improved by leaps and bounds. :D :D :D

Well, let's see...

Color is MUCH better in the new one, especially the greens, and there's a lot more variation.
Composition is better.
Values are much better.

That all adds up to a whole lot better! :)

This version looks much better to me--being darker really made the difference. I was just wondering if there should be more shadow towards the bottom of the upper horizontal stone?? (sorry, "bottom of the upper" sounds wierd...) Also, did you mask the water or scratch it out?

Wow... Barb... this is the best example of how practising and practising and spending too much time on WC! could do to your painting.

VAST IMPROVEMENT... you got more variation on the foliage, values on stonework are much much better.... and best of all, you have the added confidence to paint the dripping water... :clap: :clap:

:D Thanks Marvin, yeah spend way to much time on WC, but am glad I do......This one was kind of fun redoing......thanks for you encouraging word and the vote of confidence........and thanks for looking in........

I find myself using lot of bright colours in my art now......
