I seem to recall the guys had input in the first challenge re: choice of reference, so are we going to be afforded the same rights?

I just would like to know the rules for participating in this challenge. Can we crop any of the images or do we have to paint them as they are? Can we really be creative or is this about true representation of an image?

I might participate but will see what this is all about first.

Gisele:)

madmum

Gisele, it's about YOUR representation of the picture or part of it, so creativity is good! Hope you join in - even if the banter isn't your thing, the painting is great fun!

Thanks Ruth, you're right the banter isn't my thing but the pictures I've seen so far are very inspiring. Will stick around and see how this thread goes.

Good idea Rod.

Here's one of Andernach on the Rhine I intend to paint someday. I have a bigger file if you choose it.

Now that Tessp has walked me through downloading RILs from a MAC I can participate, too. Most of my images of figures, but I'll look through them later today.

Meanwhile: FOOKIE CASTS VOTE FOR ENTRY OF MARVIN'S ARCHITECTURE SHOT.

My vote goes to Marvin's architecture. All the photos are very nice, however.

Hey Gals and Guys :)

So far we have 8 photos, we could use all of them as reference which would give all a better choice , there is a good selection of subjects

What do ya think :)

Rod.

I will join ;)

Rod, sound like a good idea, 8 would be much better choice and it is Chinese lucky number. :D Where can we get the bigger file ?

So what is the deal here?

Girls paint and boys paint and then we decide that the boys are best?

Is that the way it works?

Love the picture of Sarah from her skiing trip BTW!!!!

Whatever rules are imposed will work for me, as long as they are explained. Is it one entry per person? I have 0 landscape skill, so if I enter w/o an architecture reference the girls will already have one foot in the hole. :( Is stacked deck allowed?

madmum
05-01-2003, 03:08 AM
Auntie, you paint as many as you like, no pressure :D I usually go for architecture, but really fancy my merry go round, so I'd probably do that and Doug's reference too ;)

Rod, maybe just choose one of the merry-go-round pics, just wanted to offer choice with and without people. Have some fantastic fancy architecture to sort out from my trip still, that might be another option?

Like the idea of more choice, the men'll still drag their feet though ;) :p

I think that's the best compromise, Rod. Pretty flowers for the wimmin' more technical stuff for the guys :D

The more reference pics the better. I like the ideal of the carosel pictures but maybe only the first one and instead of two carosels use another floral instead. Also the two pics of Rod the Leprecaun. Hee, Hee. Just my two cents worth. Whatever you all decide is fine with me.

well, i might as well cast my vote in case i decide to rope myself into another project. i'm not one for banter, but that bicycle and the carousel intrigue me, so i'm going to paint them whether they are in the project or not.

well something didn't work, I will try again. If it doesn't work than maybe the moderator can remove my previous message. I saved the photos as jpg and previously if I used the uploader it would resize my photos but it didn't do it this time. Doing something wrong.

Rod
