"Strand".....evolved
digital painting
2001

Hi...thought I'd share this here. Someone lent me an INTUOS graphics tablet and stylus a couple months ago and I'm just beginning to play with it. This is my first color piece morphed from doodle. Everthing else was concepts and doodle-sketches with the pencil and pen functions. I like it because it's a stylus and it's pressure sensitive. I don't like it because I like to play with STUFF and feel the stuff and apply the stuff. I kept wanting to go to my pit and mix up some real paint, but this was captivating because I was just living inside it and had some weird surprises with the new medium.

Hopefully it's not too grainy. I accidentally saved as JPG only and the settings were preset and unfamiliar to me.

@%*#!&*#!%^`=*! This is so 'kin grainy......jpg of a jpg irretrevable I think...sorry

***********UPDATE**********

the last was jpg of a jpg and the settings of the program still screwed me this time I think.....I opted for "smooth" or their idea of it again and crisper version is poopin' gone (nuttin' like the real thing)...

so here is a slightly clearer version hopefully and I maybe I learned something here......

This is very interesting. I like the feather, the weightlessness of the feature with all that heavy mind boggling mechanical stuff going on.

Fascinating! I feel incompetent to critique in this emerging medium... but, long for areas of greater clarity...
