horses, dogs, cats...we're all getting to predictable. hence, this thread:p . show me your more unusual creations! add some variety to the A&W forum! draw something not usually seen here! while my examples aren't bizarre, they are species i haven't seen here regularly. perhaps i'll draw something a little more off the wall later. feel free to post old works, or create something new that will amaze and astound us!
~Echidna (hey-draw my namesake!!!)
first, a mouse (one of my earlier charcoals, don't laugh!):

and a slimy snake (prisma cps):

Wow these are great! Shame I haven't drawn anything unusual, they tend to be either portraits in oils (mind you, you want to see some of the faces!) or animals.
It will be interesting to see what people post here.

Hi Sara

I love your drawing but i cannot look at the snake

I painted a field mouce once.. he is the aim of a barn oak over him.
He does not know that the silent death is so close.
Beautifull death

I'm surprised people don't draw more unusual animals. In my opinon, they are the most interesting. A lot of the animals I find really fascinating most people have never even heard of.:D

OK...some goodies but oldies. I think I have probably posted all of these some time in the past...but they are not the usual posts here.

great idea echidna! and cute mousie, btw. It's good to see everybody's "other" animals! All of these are great! Here's one I just finished of a female betta fish.

http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/29-Apr-2003/14705-angelique.jpg

And my medicine wheel set I did a few years ago. these are fantastic! more!! MORE!!!!:D
while not "Clasically" beautiful, each of the images here are outstanding and captivating, and (arguably) more entertaining than another horse portrait:p
btw, the blood-squirting lizard i mentioned earlier is the regal horned lizard, Phrynosoma solare , which lives in north america. when threatened, they restrict blood flow from the head until small blood vessels in/around their eyes rupture, squirting blood a metre or more! see, you learn something new every day!!!

My animals aren't weird, but how I did them might be considered a little weird.

Nice Bison/Buffalo, She-She! Here's my version of them.

I called this one Predators of the Bison:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/30-Apr-2003/11613-Predators_of_the_Bison_A.jpg

Bison & Wolves, (same bison, different version)
http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/30-Apr-2003/11613-Bison_and_Wolves_A.jpg

And this (not so weird)was just for fun. A commission I did for a little girl's bedroom on a ceramic plate.

I am absolutely blown away by all of your renditions! Each is fabulous in its own right...:) What surprises me is the number of bison that have been included in this.
Cathy, I always wondered what your name was taken from. I should have known but unfortunately, I dont know a thing about llamas...;(
I will have to take a look-see at what other creatures I may have done amongst my cats....
Bravo people!
