Something different from last year... The results are fun, but my first love is oils...

I remember this piece well. This is the painting that introduced me to your work many moons ago, actually about two years ago. I know that your first love is oil but I wish you would paint more watercolors, you have a nice touch with the medium.

Thank you all for kind words... Someday, I hope to illicit similar - and more - excitement from my oil portraits... A note about the red nose: I agree that it is a tad harsh, but it is a trademark of the Master Watercolorist, Charlie Reed that I studied with in January of 1999! WOW - Time does fly when you're painting!

Nice piece to love. I hadn't seen your watercolor before. I hope you do more. It brings out a vibrant side of you. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Whatever can find room in the human heart, as emotion, idea, and purpose, whatever it is able to frame into a deed ... can constitute the many-colored content of painting. Hegel.

I'm really not sure what Beatiful is but it's Beautiful too.

The red nose doesn't bother me at all. Actually, many beginning painters don't put enough red in the nose or don't put any red at all. The human face is composed of many different colors and the reds of the face are contained in the areas where flesh meets bone & cartlidge(nose, ears, cheeks, chin).

I have learned alot about portraits by viewing the work of painter Paul W. Mcormack, and also reading a few article where he discusses technique. Good stuff. here is a link. http://www.pwmccormackportraits.com/

you do have a nice touch with watercolor. Reminds me of Burton Silverman a bit.

I know she has put me in my place!

She is probably right, but I don't like it!

Oh well. . .

I have seen some of your other watercolor work and think you have a natural water color talent.
In this one the hand hanging down seems a little big... Yes?

The wonderful lose sketch talent hat you have comes through here.

In this case, I wonder if this is something
that matters? I know, I know, but does it
really?

No it really does not matter.
It's just me, being picky,
in a kind way I hope.

IF THE RED NOSE WAS INTENTIONAL THATS OK , ART IS JUST A FORM OF EXPRESSION
