This was challenge perfect. This donut has all the makings of an Easter treat.

9X6 Prismacolors on Bristol Vellum.

At 2 hours including a lot of pencil sharpening because they kept breaking:(

Finished after probably 4 hours after purchasing a new pencil sharpener :)

Deliciously done, Susan!! A perfect outcome for the nice sharp Prismacolors! I used to use them a lot, and I would have been very proud to have done a piece such as this! :)

Yes, it is delicious! Love the CPs too and you sure know how to use them to make a subject pop. The unfinished donut could have stood on its own as a painting, sort of half-eaten, as if the person got guilt pangs so sharp that they left it (me).

Lovely work Sue - very pretty ... and I agree with Kay about the half-finished (half-eaten?) version:D

Oh, it looks wonderful! I do hate it when the lead keeps breaking and breaking. So annoying.

Excellent job, even though it cost you a new pencil sharpener. Beautiful colored pencil work.

THis is beautiful!!! Yummy spring for sure...
So are you saying they kept breaking because of your sharpener? I wonder if that's my problem with some pencils I have - faulty shapener!!!

I had 3 faulty sharpeners. The manual hand held Prisma sharpeners that look kind of like a football. I bought them all at the same time and used them about the same amount therefore I think they all wore out at the same time. The new sharpener made ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

Hey Sue:wave: looking good i like it:clap: breaking is the downside, sub standard sharpeners or a bad batch of wood:eek: i prefer my stanley knive and a sharp blade but even then you have to be extra careful you dont slice through it.
