I was thinking that it looked like swirls behind the flower and then read the comment about woven lace and she's right! Beautiful!

Thanks for all your comments. My friend has this flower blooming on her patio and it is beautiful. Belongs to the succulent family and the bloom is about 8 inches across. Thanks again.

Jan, I really like your use of salt. It made me think of an icy window and the flower is on the inside. A very interesting interpretation. Good job!

Jan--an excellent use of salt technique. Your flower is absolutely beautiful. I always admire your rendering of flowers, but the color in this one is so absolutely vivid and alive. It's great!!:D
