Not sure what I'll do with the foreground...any suggestions? Maybe just some flowers...???

5 minute sketch

I'd love to paint some more but got a last minute invite to go see Elton John in Orlando - all bought and paid for - even a suite and a driver!! I can't say no to a opportunity like that!!! I'll have pics I'm sure....

Pretty pansies woud fit in the foreground (the pic with the watering can).
Statue is good and your painting of Karen is really a good watercolor. Skin tones are lovely and I like your negative painting to denote gray hair. Will be back. Have fun in Orlando - you've been busy lately and deserve it.

Love the start on your Karen painting. The statue will turn out great and the pigs will keep you from getting into a rut...Lol! Enjoy the Elton party!

Great crop on the statue - I wondered about doing that myself!

I can't wait to see your finishes. Especially the piggies. Crocodile Rock brings back many memories at Miller Pond ice skating rink when I was a teenager. Have fun.

She's done as much I can do - not much of a likeness but ah well!!

A close up...def spring colors in her hair and bg.

Statue at one hour. I'm def gonna be making that yellow alot lighter!! WOW...what was I thinking???

Pigs are next!!! OINK, OINK

Beautiful paintings , love the statue.

Karen is excellent. Doesn't need a perfect likeness. You have artistic license.
Great statue. I like the yellow. You were thinking: It's a fine day for the beach and I think I'll go and leave the little piggies alone. Once upon a time ladies who dyed their hair for grey would end up with purple hair. It was OK because they were also the ladies who wore purple dresses:) Waaay before we wore purple...

Val...some terrific work here...in the the Karen portrait I wasn't looking for a loookalike but saw a great rendition ..the jawline, ears and even some sparkle in the pearls..pretty nice!
My fav however is the statue..I like that you captured the grey solid form of it and the expression...btw...you provide great feedback on the work here...like how you share your sincere feeling on the emotion the painting presents you...from eerie to happy etc...lol...I like that..

Valri, love the results so far!!!

Beautiful paintings, Valri. Can't wait to see a finish on the pigs. They looked so cute. When you said about putting flowers in the foreground the first thing that popped into my head was the Doris Day song "Please, Please, Don't Eat the Daisies"

K.. Girl friend.. where are the piggies??? ;)

I love the portrait!!! Yeah.. the yellow may just be a little bit to much.

Classes were great fun.. Mike Rooney is awesome.. Fun.. Funny. Great teacher too. Those pics were awful weren't they.. ;)
