Thanks for all the great reference photos, Kay! I changed my mind at least three times trying to decide which one to tackle.
I finally decided on the triple portrait because of the loving, directional gazes. Their silent gazes speak volumes! I brought the older girl in closer to the grouping.
On this figurative, I tried to avoid hard lines in the features and maintain soft edges. Exact resemblances was not my intention.
This is oil on 5x7 canvas panel. Almost entirely by painting knife. I like the exciting surface texture achieved via the knife!

Done at around 3 hrs...Got involved and lost track.

Lovely...if i had to point out anything it would be some of the highlights and knife strokes on the children's faces, it at first impression gives the sense of the faces being scarred ..the whites are popping and makes it appar as though they've had surgery of some sort.

Red in the picture is beautiful, three people can be seen as a lively person.
