Here is Lucy once again. She is only now needing a foot showing on a perch. I will use the basket handle as I did with Nikki.
As mentioned last time, she is of a different subspecies to Nikki, so has less blue area on the head. I think I nailed her likeness. The photo I worked from was very fuzzy, taken with a video camera, and it is only 2 1/2 x3 inches. But I am very familiar with Lucy on a personal level, so that helped tremendously.

Comments are appreciated. Note that this is cropped to fit the scanner.

Beautiful feather work Bev!! This is a very nice bird portrait. Lucy is a pretty bird. *SMILE* I am looking forward to the finished painting.

Thanks Fagan and Shirl

Yes Shirl, in actuality her feathers are all fluffed out, including on her head. She does this, then bobs her head up and down and says 'allo!"
This is the pose her owners chose to have me paint her in, as it is such a big part of who she is.
You going to draw Peterbird, or paint him?

As soon as I saw Lucy I laughed, because I can see the silly personality that you've captured. You sure have the eyes and "beaky" down pat. To me, the feathers (which are gorgeous and beautiful color)look as though she just shook herself and they haven't laid back down yet. Maybe a little too much depth?? JMHO.

LOVE the background.

Am getting the courage to try Peter Bird.
