<IMG SRC="http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/15-May-2001/klimtinspired.jpg" border=0>

I've been reading a book on the work Klimt recently and now I feel compelled to paint woman with pale skin and orange hair and to decorate them in daisies and gold leaf!

Here is a working drawing for a painting I'm going to do over the weekend... I'm thinking a dark/gold leaf background with maybe redish-brown hair ....

any ideas/suggestions?

hmmmm odder and odder!

Try this one: http://www.xanga.com/home.asp?user=deevaa

you can click through to Argyle's journal on the left hand side in the links section, and there is a ramble a few days back about the achase thing, which you might be able click through.

OR you could try: http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/~deevaa

hi dee, i'd like to see more of her in that style. maybe a lot more and some more complex background than you would typically opt for.... just to stay in keeping with the book you're reading. good luck. i am sure it will be lovely. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Impluse - thankyou for your comment.... I was going to do a 'patchwork' styled background like Klimt used for the clocks in 'the kiss' and 'the fulfillment' ... but I'm not a 100% certain though.

after reading the text I really was not expecting the pure deeva habit generated one-eyed heart creature.

you know the photo you are using as your tiny head is a very good source for a klimt-like treatment (or any treatment).

It would make a fabulous self portrait.

jerry's got a good idea there, yeah?!! I'd love to see both with the K-style. Go to work! (computer nerd girl from hell....guffaw!!!!!)

Jerry -- thanks for the comment about the tiny-head, I'd considered that photo the art of my friend in Rochester, NY. He took about 6 rolls of film of me while I was there in December, which is pretty amazing considering I was only there for about 36hrs.

Rather than calling the one eye thing a habit, I've been calling it a style. I've found a style I like and I apply it, I thought that maybe it would distinguish me from other artists. Think about the 'famous' artists, they are recognisable by their style. I know that the Picasso didn't only produce blue abstract faces and that Klimt didn't only do woman with big hair decorated in daisies, but these pieces define their style.

I like it when someone see's one of my paintings amongst a crowd of others and can say... "that ones dee's!" .. I don't know, maybe I'm mis-guided on this one.

I'll think about your comments though.

Hi Diva,

Nice drawing. Saw your website and your other post too. Appreciate your works. BTW, it looks like you fancy singled-eyed human beings. Any specific reason?
