Hi; This is cross post from "drawing" This is a drawing of my siamese cat but instead of a pen or pencil I used a woodburner. It is done on a cradled wood support made of birch and it is 11" x 14". I hope you get a kick out of it and thanks for looking. Fayhttp://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/07-Mar-2012/783042-mocca.jpg

Being a cat lover myself, I absolutely love it! (love the pads of the paws!)

Love it! I love that "look" of mischief that you captured perfectly. The toe pads are also a hit. What talent!!!

It's beautifully rendered and a wonderful composition. Love the cat, paws, etc but what I really find remarkable is how you've managed to make the wood grain disappear. Design and composition is difficult enough; do you also have to plan the integration prior to starting?

Wonderful burning work! cute cat they like to hide one of our cats used to hide under a rug to surpise the others but you could see the big bump on the rug from far away lol

Thank you everyone for your positive comments. In response to your question NRC: the grain of this wood is very light so it covers very easily although this is not my aim. The grain at the top of the piece flows just like the blanket but believe me this was a happy accident.

Wow! This is really good! I'm a lover of siamese cats and have had 3 of them myself. This is wonderful! I love the pose, and the way you've placed him on the board. Just shows how they love to hide under things soft and warm, but want to also be near enough to keep an eye on you too! :) You certainly are multi-talented, doing watercolour and wood burning. I'm off to look at some more of your work now.:cat:
