View Full Version : website query

I have asked this question of the techie folk, but I know for a fact that many of you people are good with computers and websites, and I have a wee question.

The guy who sells the Artmate that EJ showed us a while back, has a website, and on it are the instructions for assembling the gadget. When you try to print off the instructions, you lose part of the page.

He would like to know if it is possible to make his pages "printer friendly". If anyone has any ideas about this, could they drop me a pm? I'd like to help him if I can, he has taken a lot of time and trouble to produce a useful gadget for artists.

It's possible that he doesn't have a size restriction on his pages.

If its too wide to be seen on a screen, then most likely it won't all print out either. I'd check the size of the pages first.

Then too, he could offer a PDF file for his instructions which could be downloaded and printed out easily.

Actually, it can all be seen on my screen - have a look:

But it won't all print out. He wants all the photos to appear - would pdf be ok for that?

I actually do have a suggestion, when u right click and go 2 print or select it from the "File" pull down menu and your printer dialogue box comes up try going 2 your layout tab, or wherever you can change it from portrait 2 landscape and choose landscape - that should alleviate your problems. I hope this helps.

Did u order one?!?!:D

Good idea - I will suggest that to him, he can try it, and if it works, he can put a line in on the page to suggest that the viewer should do this.

No I didn't buy one, EJ did, and I said I would review it for The Artist magazine. However,I felt that the assembly instructions in his leaflet aren't clear enough, and the website pages won't print out, so I won't be reviewing it until he improves them!

E-J, that is brilliant info for Martin, better than I found. I am sure he will appreciate it. Thanks for the effort.
