Looking through my uncles holiday photos i saw this scene and asked to borrow the photo to paint it. I kept it more simple than i normally do and was able to complete it in a day...16"x 12"

I'm going to Highlands end, near Bridport, Dorset at the end of May, and I'm staying there for a week with my g/f, so there may be more opportunities for coastal scenes there... Does anyone know the area?

What I enjoy most about it is the coastline; I love how you rendered the water meeting the land.

Great picture - wonderful job on the perspective and lovely treatment of the greens. What colours did you use for these - greens being one of the hardest things for an English landscape painter to master (I'm still trying with considerably less success!!)
Keep up the good work.

Hi DaZZer--this is lovely your buildings are just perfect! Everything comes together in this painting and isbeautifully unified both in composition and color balance. Bravo!
Did I see a golf ball? :D

Thanks again for all the kind replies. Julie, I tend to use lemon yellow and French ultramarine for grass and Cad yellow and ultramarine for bushes and trees though sometimes i had tiny amounts of any other colour depending on light and conditions etc.. I also 'grey down' the greens using a very small amount of a red complimentary when required... magnuscanis, I've just rang my uncle to find out exactly where this is but he's not in - I'll let you know when i find out.

kathy i can't make out any golf balls in my painting but I have spotted one in yours! The golfer WAS aiming at the golf cart! It's stuck to the back of it! Have a look! :D
