I don't ever see tempera mentioned here. Does anyone ever use it? What's the difference between tempera and water colors from a pan other than it comes in powder form or whatever.

Does it work the same way? --- I mean can you get the same effects, etc.

Any information you can give me on tempera and your experiences with it would be appreciated ...

and, oh, by the way --- it's the weekend, let's really soar on the wings of the eagle.

Greyeagle--why don't you do a SEARCH for tempera? I can't help you in any other way--sorry!

P.S. Because of the addition of egg yolk to the pigments, maybe it doesn't meet the criteria for watercolors--and this is the watercolor forum. You might want to check out some of the other forums.

You may --- and probably are, correct.

I will try.

Thanks, because I didn't take into consideration the "egg" factor.

to whom it may concern :

... is a very interesting site ... and by using the search button for "tempera" you will find some tempera postings (David O for instance is a tempera artist).

P.S. I'm occasionaly working with tempera now ...
