This is my first horse portrait. I think he's an appaloosa. Tommy's portrait is acrylic on 16"x20" gallery wrapped canvas.

This is just gorgeous! I love the colors you used and the lighting. Great work for your first horse portrait as well!

Beautiful! Looks like one of the horses my family had when I was a child. Yep, ours was an appaloosa. Great color harmony here, and I like the touches of sky color in the shadows.

tommy is a 'leopard' appy. nicely done, my only comment are the 'spots' in the snow to the right -- i think they pull the eye from tommy.

great painting again Frank. I too must say the spots draw me away also. Another thing I have a problem is is the cheek area. It seems to go right into the neck with no definition. Might just be me , hoping it is. All in all its wonderful for your first horse painting
