hey ya

I see strong lights and shadows, some nice line work too. Over all a nice practice piece for all the above plus the horse its self.

Thank you :) Something about the muzzle is bothering me, though...

it could use a little more shading to difine the shape better. thats probably what your seeing. the muzzel as it is just drops off at the end of the face, where there are really variances there too. Do you have a refrence pic your using?

Well, I have it in a book...

I think this looks good. the thing i see off in the muzzle is the nostrils. they are two different shapes. maybe rounding the tapred one or visa versa would help. great job with the ink!!

Keep practicing! You've really improved since the first piece I saw that you posted. You have very strong contrast, and might want to consider adding some more shading to add detail to this piece. The muzzle seems a bit "thick" in relation to the rest of the horse's head. The top half looks relatively Arab, while the muzzle looks less refined. I really like that you're trying pen and ink and pencil. Don't forget about colored pencil, too! ;)

Suzy, want me to post an arab I did in colored pencil? ;) It kinda sucks though...

Nice job!! For what it's worth, I noticed the nostrils right off, too. The left (ours) seems larger than the right one.
