Jan, your wood panelling and windowframe are excellent! The sky through your window is very good, too. You could probably use some shadows to give better definition to the window.:) :)

Wow, this is great! The wood paneling threw me off! I didn't realize at first that it was part of the painting!

I like the painting but have to agree with the above. Lacks a light source.

This is a nice painting, it would benefit greatly by creating more contrast between the window and the other elements.

The texture seems to be interesting.

Thanks for your suggestions. I would like to apply these but with my inexperience I'm not sure what to do. Guess I'm afraid I will mess it up. Can someone explain where the shadows should go and how do I show the light source. Thanks for your help. Jan

Jan..........just me, but I don't believe every picture has to have cast shadows..........maybe no light source..........

For me, pictures are always difficult to judge until I slap a mat and frame on them.........make all the difference in the world...

Here's what this one might look like.........

Al... you're always sooooo right... It simply never occurred to me that there doesn't HAVE to be a light source... I get so focused and intent on making sure that my light source and shadows are "correct" that I probably lose some of my spontanaity!!! Thanks for the tip!!!

Jan... it really does make a difference with a mat and frame!!!
