I like this version with the boat--it adds that hint of life, but is still very serene!

Lovely piece, Al. Since I didn't see it before, I think it's just fine the way it is. :D

Hi Al: I really liked your first version of Lake Henry and I like this one as well.
There is something about the boat that is bothering me, something that is just a tad off that is throwing it out of proportion. I am taking a second look......

I think it is the seats, It looks like the seat showing on the far side of the boat is attached to the upper metal rim of the boat instead of sitting lower in the boat. I have had trouble with this as well.

I have attached this image of my canoe on the river painting cropped cause a picture is worth a big long explanation LOL

The black thing is the seat and the yellow wooden piece is the yoke used for portaging which does attach to the rim of the canoe.

Char...........no need for apology.........we all like different things.....what makes art interesting.........and why we post here....
F2C....ty.......for checking in....
Lyn......gracias.....
Eileen.........thanks.......
Gail........if I understand, (head rather thick) you suggest the right board (seat) whatever it is.....be painted to look like it's lower in the boat........ Is that correct?? You sound like you know a lot about boats........thanks......will look at that..........

Like this a lot. The foreground grasses and trees are excellent. Really like the composition - feel like I'm a part of the scene.

I don't remember this but think that the addition of the boat is a good thing. I agree that something is wrong with the boat seats. The thing I notice is that they appear too close together.

Good painting. I like the reflections.

Hi, Al. This sparkles. I especially like the calligraphy of the foliage in the foreground. Just enough - not overdone - and it so nicely frames the subject.

Thanks!
