View Full Version : Pouring Opaques

A friend who has taken a class with Betsy Dillard Stroud and Pat San Soucie did a technique that I want to share with you:

It is pouring opaques (she used WC and white Tempera) over an old painting to which you have artfully arranged tissues and other texture making items. My friend used this method with an old painting last week which was not even useful for collage and now she has a lovely painting! The old painting had dull yellow, orange and greens and she poured mostly red violet on it and the colors and serendipitous designs are wonderful! You never quite know what will result. She says, "I'm saving all the old dogs for this technique!"
