Great sailboat!! Yes, paint it... After you straighten the horizon... otherwise, we'll all feel like drunken sailors!!:) Oh and you might think about eliminating the dinghy...

I took the picture about noon today and I was going about 20kts. by the boat- Agree the dingie will go and will add cumulus clouds.
thanks for starters

Yes, straightening the horizon .... out goes the dinghy

and if I were to do this... I'll change the colour of the sail... looks coeruleum/cobalt blue to me... too close to sky colour.... perhaps orange, complement to blue.... which will give you a good contrast.

Lovely photo, Bill.

I would keep the sky simple as it is now so as not to divert attention away from the yacht.

Instead of cumulus clouds maybe some high cirus clouds to give a counter action to the upright sail. Be sure to put some of the sail color in the reflections in the water. You can't see them very well in the photo but they will add nice interest.

Good suggestions, losing the dinghy will allow you to move the yacht to the right so that it is sailing into the painting ,

Rod.

I'll incorporate all your inputs into the pic. Hopfully I can start it Sunday. This string is an excellent example of how a student can learn from WC. THANKS AGAIN for your inputs I'll post the results shortly
