Hi All,
Just finishing up on this Pastel, 8 x 10.
This is from a ref. from one of the Spinone Italiano owners I've recently contacted for ref. photos, Catherin Ryan.
Still needs a bit of tweeking on the mom's nose, and a bit more shading right behind the pup's ear.
Anything else you all see let me know! Thanks!
CC's always welcomed!

That fur is gorgeous Barb, well done, I love it! Is this ampersand pastelboard also?

Thanks Lexy! Yes, I should have mentioned that, it's Ampersand pastelbord.

Thank you so much for your much appreciated comments evartpat, Frank, and Winky'sMom!

I just couldn't resist painting this tender image when I received the ref., so adorable:) :).
Been doing a few, mostly white, dogs lately(and more to come), as I'm trying to improve my work in use of colors to represent the white.

After studying this a bit more, I am going to rework the pup's ear a bit more as it looks a bit flat. And as mentioned in my OP, will work on the area just behind the pup's ear as I think pup's head looks a bit disconnected:eek:
Does the momma's nose look right? Seems off to me somehow.

Anything else you think needs attention, please let me know, as I am really trying to improve my work. Thanks:wave:

Thanks Dave!
Been watching news of the devastation from an early morning tornado near me. I had actually had next to no sleep when I tried to finish this today. No sleep, due to the same storm causing me to retreat to my basement. An F-4 tornado hit Harrisburg, IL(about an hr. from me) just shortly after it passed over me.
My prayers go out to all those affected by this deadly tornado, which took the lives of at least 6 people(at last news cast).

I will work on it more tomorrow, with rested eyes.
Thank you again!

This is gorgeous artwork, well done. Glad you are okay from the storm and so very glad I live in the UK where we don't get damaging tornados, it must be frightening.

Nonie- Thank you for viewing and comment!
bluemoonstar- Glad you like, thank you!
chammi- Thank you for your kind comment. I admire your work, so happy you approve of my fur rendering!
lisapencil- Thanks! yes, the storms here can be quite scary. I'm just glad I have a basement for me and my dogs to retreat to. It's early in the year for this type of storm, but we've had such a mild Winter, I expected the storms to start earlier.
Molesworth-thanks! I enjoyed doing this one.
