Beautiful Rod: I love the way you have pushed those leaves on the right into the background.

Autumn? I thought--then realized that while we in the Northern Hemisphere have been prattling on about Spring, there's a half a world that is entering Autumn! Duh!

Beautiful rendering of the leaves--I'm fascinated looking down into the painting at the twigs and branches, etc. The colors are in my favorite palette. Wonderfully translucent.:)

This is beautiful Rod. Lots of variety in the leaves and colours. Not many autumn leaves here yet - (must be cooler in Christchurch) :p - so it's nice to see yours:)

Rod, do you know what you are asking????????????????????
Only, underline ONLY, because you are such a nice person and because you do such nice work, would someone from my end of the world open anything that has to do with fall or winter. Haven't seen a leaf on a tree or bush since last October HA!

O.K., beautiful fall leaves, gorgeous colours, what I like best is all the twiggy stuff behind it. Even know what it is called - Engelman's Ivy or os it Ingleman's Ivy.

It's a beautiful painting Rod!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really beautiful work, Rod.
Reminescent of a William Morris wallpaper design, and that is a big complement in my book.

Auntie, in Phoenix wishing the season was starting to turn to fall.

Lovely job, Rod - especially at the small size. I have a feeling some of the effect may have been lost in the scan. Here's a version with the pink colour cast removed.

Is that more like the original?

Hello Rod,

I agree with all the nice things everyone has said. I love the colors and the composition is dynamite. Fabulous painting. Seems odd to us to think of Autumn when Spring is just coming into focus around here.

Love this painting. I like the perspective. Very natural.

I was looking at Amazon.com the other day for watercolor books & ran across a couple on botanical & flowers from a man named West from Christchurch. Wondered if you knew of him.

All I can say is echo all of the above. Love the composition with the red leaves echoing each other and the green touches here and there, love the sticks in the background and the sense of depth they create...

BEAUTIFUL WORK, ROD
