Went to the zoo on Thursday, and got some great pix :)

Spent 2 hours on this today - kinda fast and loose...

(and my studio is a mess! )

Love the whiskers! Ugh, stripes make me dizzy. Flashback of doing 16x20 zebras in stippling. What was I thinking? *twitch* This guy is great! How's your eyes after two grueling, stripey hours?:D

It was fun... challenging  but fun :D I'm pretty sure it looks nothing like the original zebra now LOL! I always wanted one of those artsy-fartsy abstracts for my wall - this is probably as close as I'll get that still matches my "decor" I have another zebra pic I want to do in CP later.

walerian - my eyes must have survived (I do need new glasses though) because I got right back to work and did another pastel (flowers) after this one (I figured since my studio was already covered in pastel dust, why not? :p )

artcrazy - the Brandy painting is still sitting on my easle (under the Spit and Polish pic *sigh* ) I'll get to it one of these days!

Thanks everyone! :)

Wow, nice job, Wingnut!! Great perspective! I especially like the wispy whiskers!

I've been on the lookout for a good Zebra pic to do in a scratchart, happen to have any extras you'd be willing to share?

You can get a ton of large high quality pictures at Animal Pictures Archive (http://www.animalpicturesarchive.com). Just do a search for zebra. The permission page says to email the photographer for permission before use.
