This is Crop, crop, crop of the two dogs, leaving "Chelsea" only. It was difficult to see her/his eyes even when I cropped close-up.

6in x 8in - Mi-teintes pastel paper - willow charcoal - about half an hour and then another half an hour fiddling with it and making it worse.

Good job finding the eyes ;-> I feel like Chelsea is looking right at me, and I want to pet her ears.

Lovely expression on Chelsea - Well done with the eyes - I couldn't make out any features on my monitor so decided it was too hard for me.

Great job on the black dog. They don't catch the light well and you overcame that problem.

I liked the ref photo too but was afraid of the really dark areas. You did marvelously!

I've just realised I should have started a new thread for my still-life as it was Tuesday here yesterday when I posted it and no-ones seen it. Oh well, I'll remember next time.

I've seen it. I looked - I knew you would do more - and it is great!
Good idea to post it again as a new thread as it does get buried here. I learnt that.
