View Full Version : The Bond

This was a recently completed commission piece done for an avid Duck Hunter.
He wanted a portrait to convey the special bond between a hunter and his dog and that despite the cold wintery conditions, there is nowhere else that either of them would rather be than out in the elements together.
17 x 18 inches, prismacolor pencil on museum board.

Outstanding work! What're those things hanging around the man's neck? Are they duck-call things?

Really nice piece! I love all the details on his jacket and the cattails behind them.

I think you hit your goal on the head, and in a beautiful, emotional way. Gorgeous piece.

Thanks everybody.
Yes, those are duck calls. Believe me I learned way more than I ever wanted about duck hunting. The client had VERY specific ideas on what was portrayed.
It was quite a departure for me, but overall I enjoyed the project...:)
