View Full Version : Ben done-1 more fish to go

04-18-2003, 04:05 PM

the painting is almost done...i still have the last fish to paint but Ben is now complete :D
i was trying to show the transparent fins of the fish but have a slight reflection of color-according to the colors used in the water.

the tail fins are especially showing the transparency.

WOW, WOW, WOW! I love the background in this with the tiny little bubbles and how the stripey red/white fish almost blends in with it . . . and the way the dark fish at the top left frames the composition in.

I'd never have the patience for all of that twisting and turning pattern everywhere. What an accomplishment!!

Absolutely wonderful Sarah!!!!!!!

Have to tell you a funny story - remember when I was teasing you that all I saw was marbles instead of the bubbles, because I had just finished painting marbles? Well, didn't I see a hotel commercial on TV yesterday, with a goldfish bowl, plus goldfish and guess what, 1/4 filled with marbles HA!

Ben looks great. I especially like the way you've done his round belly and the fins on the lower part of his body. The whole fish is terrific, but those parts appeal to me. Good job on conveying the transparency of the tail and fins too.

On to Number 3 fish....

Late last night, after I had gone to bed I thought of something I wanted to say about the Ben fish....He looks as if he could just swim right off the paper!!!......da#%, he's good!!!
