View Full Version : WDE - 18Feb2012 - Carver (Did the Challenge)

Hi again folks!

Looks like the site is back to normal although I still find it odd that the number of views is always almost exactly 1 number higher than the number of comments (example: Comments - 10; Views - 11). Kinda odd:confused:

Hey, I had some spare time last night and I thought I'd seriously :D take on the challenge. Here's the carver - with just the carver and the wood carving. For simplicity I also used one color only (raw sienna) and one brush only ("0"). I'm not jumping for joy but I'm quite pleased with it. The WC cooperated in a lot of spots. This is WC on a 5x7 scrap card.

Thanks for looking and thank you again to all of you for participating this week!

Fantastic work! Love the face and tonal contrast.

Excellent watercolor. Great effect with one color and the simplified approach.

Thanks for weathering the storm so graciously and for your lovely images.

There really is something wrong with 10 views 11 viewers, etc. I think this is recent. Who knows what else has gone missing....

Wow, nice use of the scrap of paper! Your use of limited colour emphasizes the dramatic point of view and makes it look almost sculptural.

Indeed the site still has hiccups.

Superb watercolour monochrome Joel. Marvellous gradation of colour and real depth tp the form. Well Done!

And Well Done again on hosting a difficult week with all the gremlins. I'm sure we all enjoyed it (I know I did) and it just shows that when it counts we can all pull together.

I love how you did this. You really challenged your challenge. Thanks for hosting. Great images and a great challenge. If the Wetcanvas wigouts would have happened on my first hosting a couple of weeks ago I would have freaked.
