I hope I am not boring you with my horse paintings too much :o but they are what keeps me busy right now. So I truly hope you dont mind me sharing them here.
This is a painting of Galileo, a horse that needs no introduction to racing fans. A great racehorse and top sire in the Thoroughbred world.
This commission was handed over this morning to a happy client, but C+C is as always welcome.
18x24 inch on Ambersand panel, painted with W&N Artist Acrylics

The photo is poor, so please excuse the lousy quality :o

He is lovely! Well done. I'm in the middle of painting a commission of a horse, just the head like yours. What colours have you used for the mouth and nose? They are spot on and as I only usually paint dogs I'm struggling to get the colour right. Mines acrylics too.

thank you Jocundall
For mouth and nose I mixed a warmish grey with Tit. White, a touch of black and Burnt Umber. And then I scrumbled a mix of Maples Yellow, Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Blue over it. Took a bit of fiddling but worked out quiet well I think.

Am I then only 1 that notice the Tit. White in your post above, and found it funny??? :D

Great work on the horse though - very nicely done

How pretty! His eye is so kind. I get the impression of early morning or late afternoon light, can't decide which, but it is very appealing.
