This is the last painting I did in 2011 ... I was on an "ancient Egypt" kick and thought it would be cool to try and capture polished gold in a painting.

Interesting idea, composition and cropping. Very fun. All that yellow, I am glad you have a bit of blue, ed and green to rest the eyes. I think you captured polished gold very well. I got it right away. If I were to be picky, the reflections on the right are much better than on the left. The reflections on the cheek and leaning into the ear almost make me think the metal is going inward, instead of an outward curve. Something is also "off" in the gold between the eye and eyebrow, though can't say what. Maybe a reference photo would help to figure it out. I really like the blues reflected in the neck, lovely pattern. all your blues are good, especially blended with darker blue or black as you have. Lips are fabulous. This must have been a royal pita to paint.
