I want to use silver and gold colors sometimes in oil painting. Is it possible to obtain these from other colors?

Do you mean you want to render gold/silver/metallic objects using paint, or you want actual metallic paint? Have you considered using gold/silver leaf?

Yes of course it is , think of Silver as ~a grey scale from the darkest darks to the Lightest lights will help achieve this .:D .....Gold is basically the same , pick a color tone and go from there squint and Look to see the shapes what color tone it is your painting from, its that simple ! ,
heres some silver Ive painted , although the painting is crap, Ive improved since then , but it gives you the idea , yeah:crossfingers: :D

I've heard a few professional artists state on their DVDs that they use yellow ochre.
