hello Everyone:wave:

It's been awhile since I've posted here

not sure if I have started a thread on this before but thought I would start a new thread as I have picked up this drawing again.

this is one of the many drawings I started last year and put to one side....I am hoping to finish it this in the next couple of weeks if not sooner.

C&C welcome

Sheryl :) http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/13-Feb-2012/973191-WIP_-_On_the_Prowl_4.jpg

Thanks Gary....I'm using Faber Castell Polychrome color pencils on Strathmore Bristol....I use to use strickly Prismacolors but I have found that the FB pencils give more of a natural tone to fur and skin that I now strickly use these....plus I like the smooth blending of these pencils verus the Prismas.

here is what I have done so far today

Sheryl ;-)

Very very nice. I really like this. The fur came out beautifully, I love the way the fur picks up the light from the moon. :>))

Hey Sheryl, really great work on this...I love the grass and what you have done with it. How do you lay down your blacks? very nice and it does not look dead like most black I see...

Hi George...thanks for the wonderful comment ;-) I do appreciate it

as for the black background I used just my Black color pencil for it that I have to say probably was the most unexciting part of this drawing to do LOL...and to be honest I think the next time I do a piece like this I will probably do the black last as it has created alot of smudging. thank god for photoshop LOL

here is an update on this piece I needed to stop for the night as I was getting tired and starting to overworking the fur....

I may have to rethink me not using black in my work...well blending in with color will still be out but this black you lay down is absolutely gorgeous...makes the piece fulminate.

Sheryl, I like the strength in this. Crisp and clear and very effective. Great colours.
