This is a cross-thread also posted in Oil Pastel Studio. I had originally worked on a much larger piece, but as I was struggling with the reflective surfaces in the lower RH quadrant I decided to crop a big chunk of it out and am much happier with the crop. Now if I can find a proper matte/frame combo that won't break the bank! I'd love your critiques. The crop is artificial so it can be expanded. Still deciding.

I love this one, beautiful pose and the lighting is gorgeous - and in oil pastel too - not the easiest medium to work in!!

Lovely work, I love the expression on the dog's face. I'm not sure about the crop though. I'm finding having so much of the dog's reflection at the bottom is distracting and takes focus away from the rest of the image.

Wow I can't believe the detail you have achieved with oil pastel. Fantastic. :cat:

Thank you everyone! I think that I am going to try to subdue the bottom reflection section per several suggestions... but probably not updating for a few more nights.. Meanwhile I might start work on another piece. Hmmm.. I'm so terrible about not finishing!
