A cheery sight for sure; those sunflowers. We are just about in the Cabin Fever mode of winter here - icy, grey, cold. Here is my start in acrylics 8 X 10 painted over last weeks Market place, painted over a Golden retreiver on canvas. :D

Hey, I said it was a start. Will be back tomorrow. I really like this ref pic - will spend some time with it and hopefully end up with something I don't want to paint over!

Looking forward to those sunflowers, I paint over my duds all the time, it adds texture and depth to the new work that I like and sometimes I even get something I want to keep.

Now you have me intrigued, is that the dog's nose I can see or the start of a sunflower. :D I'm looking forward to more.

Interesting start! I'm with ya on the paintovers; saves space and money and I only rarely regret doing it, plus the texture improves for each subsequent painting.;)

Love your sunflowers. It is a good idea to use an old painting as an 'underpainting'.
