Hey everyone, as the title states, I'm new to the site, and to art in general. I'm currently working with pencil, as it's what my budget allows, but hope to someday move into paint... I literally just started drawing 4 days ago, so, it's not very great stuff, but I'm working on it, trying to put 2 hours a day towards improvement, whether it's actually drawing/sketching (not sure what the difference is), or reading information about techniques (right now it's shading), but just spending that amount of time doing something related to the subject... Anyways, looking forward to what seems to be a bottomless pit of information here at WC.
Thanks,
OutSide In

Thanks! I will probably spend quite a bit of my time tomorrow browsing the site... not sure if I'll draw or not, I've been doing one sketch/drawing per day, just basically seeing something in my house, grabbing it and setting it on my desk... today's object was way out of my league, having only the 4 days of practice, so it was mildly discouraging. But hopefully I'll get over it.

Welcome Outside in, from another new member.
You can get lots of good advice her I am sure! I am curious about your progress and I think others too so post something now and then and use their knowledge to your advantage.
The main difference between an artist and a beginner is time.
Enjoy!!
Hello , and a warm welcome to Wet Canvas, hope you enjoy your time here , if you keep up two hours per day you are going to see fantastic improvement.
Best wishes, Ken
