question about printing. I took photo's of my elk painting and I printed it with Adobe elements. The color is not what I see on the monitor. Then I printed it through another probgram and got much better results. The clarity and everything was better. Why does my Adobe emements do this. Drives me nuts.

I have a very old version of PSE, but there is an option in Edit for Color Settings which allows Optimised for Printing.

Mine is old too. Thanks for the info. I did make a change and it helped some.

It's a calibration issue, which is fairly common. You need to calibrate your printer and programs to work together to accurately reproduce what you see on screen. A Google search for "Printer calibration" should help.

Adobe can assign color profiles to your images, or at least take into consideration imbedded color profiles, which changes how they print. Your camera has embedded color information into the file, and how Adobe reads this might be different than other programs read it. Photopshop may also be attaching its OWN color profile. This gets a little complicated, here is some reading if you are bored: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_management

So for Photospho Elements specifically, this page should help you! http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/elements-color-management.html
