I'm not pleased with the self-portrait - my daughter says there's something wrong with the mouth..... Watercolor, 7 x 10 inches - 2 hours

The sunset was 1 1/2 hour 9 x 12. I took a piece of paper and I'm not sure what it is, but the water kind of pooled on the top -- it might be some of the Canson paper that i thought I had gotten rid of.

I probably wont' get to check everyone's work until tomorrow....

Nice job on both! I especially like the boat & the water on the bottom part, and the colors. I'm not brave enough yet to try doing a portrait (even of myself)!

I think the self-portrait is wonderful. Great job on Thailand.

I too think your self-portrait is wonderful - great color and form - there's always "something about the mouth," because our mouths are always moving
hardly ever in repose.

Seascape with boat is very nicely rendered - also good color. You are the brave one to offer yourself on the self-portrait stage.

On Deano's signature line it says "A portrait is a picture of a person with something wrong with the mouth: John Singer Sargent "
We can't see there is anything wrong with it as we don't have a pic of you....LOL. Best way for me to do a self or any portrait is with a photo and not the real thing!! Lazy painter here.
I do love the sunset painting. Can't notice the pooling you mentioned either. All works together very nicely!!

I couldn't even get started on a self portrait in 2 hrs...Lol. I'd have to have a few drinks to get up the courage...
Yours came out fine, Bunny. The eyes and glasses are esp. well done.

Love the boat!

Lol...Right on, Valri,on the Sargent quote!
So you're in great company, Bunny, if you think there's something wrong with the mouth. :)

You did a great job on the self portrait, and I am particularly impressed with the way you did the glasses and necklace. The sunset is gorgeous as well.

I really like the way you highlighted your glasses and necklace. Nice detail. You are brave to do a self portrait. I have yet to do any portrait. I also really like your boat!
