From the artist:

Hi! I've been making pencil & charcoal portraits for several years and I'm quite confident working w/ greys. But recently I started working with colour and I chose coloured pencil since I'm used to handling pencils. Please have a look at my "fruits in a basket" drawing. I would really appreciate any advice you can give.

Comments:

I can see you're into hyperrealism. The rendering is very well done. I can see the result of your strong drawing ability. Always remember that color should be visualized in value. Sometimes when working in grays it is necessary to emphasize shape by line instead of only value shift. Look carefully at your bunch of bananas. I feel that some edges are overemphasized with lines. You felt this need to depict the individual bananas. If you had changed the light to come from the side ( in this case from the right) rather than from the top, this would've given you a shadow side. This will help give a three-dimensional look. With color we can achieve volume by value and hue shift. So using hard edges is hardly necessary.

The composition is fine. Good thing the bananas point inwards. This also helps to offset the roundness of the oranges. I feel that you have the ability to take more risks by adding more elements and zooming out to create a sophisticated still life. Go for it. You've gone through the hardest steps already which is disciplined drawing in grays.
