From the artist:

I have been painting off and on for the last 2 years. This is the first portrait I have ever done, it is a copy of an Italian renaissance painting of which I had a small picture in a book. The painting is about 8'x11" and it is done in oils. It took forever to do it but I am fairly pleased with the result. I would appreciate very much your honest opinion.

Thank you so much,
Leontine van der Meer

Your Original
Strong Points:
  • Well done!

My Modified Version
Areas to Work On:
  • Only one observation. You have the contour of his hat and part of his forehead "kiss" the edges of the frame. Leave more breathing space.
  • Otherwise it seems like the head is placed tightly in box.

Additional comments:

Great job!
