Now we'll transfer a copy of the first picture into our as yet blank banner. Click on the window of the resized image, then hold down Ctrl+A (or Edit > Select All) to select the whole thumbnail. Then press Ctrl+C (or Edit > Copy) to copy the image.

Come back to the banner by clicking on its window. Press Ctrl+V (or Edit > Paste) to drop a copy of the thumbnail into our banner canvas.
Use the move tool, indicated in the illustration below, to drag the resized image to the desired place. When you're happy with the image's position, click outside of the image to set it in place.

(Don't worry if you made a mistake in the positioning -- there's always the Undo function, Ctrl+Z. You can also move it again at any time later using the same move tool.)
Just repeat the previous steps (opening, resizing and copy/pasting) for the rest of the images. Depending on the size and number of images you opted to include, your banner should now look something like the screenshot below. Note the layers window -- each photo is sitting on its own layer, so it's easy to move them around.

Almost done, hang in there! :)
As you may have noticed in this example, there's an unsightly little gap to the right of the images where there was a bit left over because the total pixel width of your images didn't equal 468. The easiest way to fix this is just to crop it off.

Choose the rectangular select tool from the toolbox. From either of the left corners, drag from left to right towards the edge of the last image. A moving stippled border should now surround the images. Go to Image > Crop Image. Gap gone!
