"Making a Canvas Board !"

Author: Larry_Seiler, Contributing Editor

Acrylic gesso can be built up in layers-letting one layer dry upon another, upon another; then, sanding with fine grit paper to get a smooth surface. For that...I generally paint on a smooth board panel to begin with. I have chosen canvas for texture sake, so though I will apply 2-3 coats of gesso, I will not sand it other than any knubs that might stick up.
Well then...that's it! You've made a more professional canvasboard. Unlike the cardboard covered variety found in art stores, this one should have an archival quality to it, and not warp. All that's needed now is a creative moment!

Hope you have found this little lesson useful.
