In a recent trek through my local office supply store, I saw a plethora of fabulous finds for pastel storage. It was spread out as far as my imagination could see! Little drawer units: There are wonderful little plastic drawer units with anywhere from 3 - 10 drawers in them. Line these with a little foam and you have a pastel cabinet that fits on a shelf and can be organized any way that fits you and the way you work. Pencil boxes: These little plastic boxes are a great slution if you want to separate your colours out and have a little box for each tone. (Put them in a small wheeled suitcase and it becomes a portable solution too!) of course, you should line them with some foam just to reduce your own risk of heart attack if you drop one! Pen trays: Shallow, segmented...pen trays are handy little pastel organizers in their own right. They are usually menat to fit in office desk drawers and 'float" on a little rail above the rest of the drawer contents. These work very well right by the easel to keep the colours for a particular painting nice and handy! |
| As you can see, there are many, many things that can be used to store your pastels, outside of the pricey options that the art supply stores stock. With a little imagination, the solution for you could be just around the corner! |
