Using Private Messaging - The Basics:

After youve joined WC!, you will find the mysterious code PM will be a part of your login information. PM stands for Private Message a handy way to make contact with other WC! members. The PM code tells you how many unread PM's you have in your Inbox. You can get to your Inbox by clicking on PM next to your login information (see image below left). You will also find a link at the top of most every WC! Page you go to, alongside your WC! user name (see image below center). You can also Click the button marked MyWC! on most WetCanvas! pages (see image below right), where you will find an assortment of possibilities for editing your folders, listing all PMs, and sending and tracking PMs.
How to Send a PM:

There are numerous ways to send someone a PM. You can click on a person's WC! handle (username) seen at the top of their posts (see image below left). A drop down menu will open and one of the options listed is Send PM. You can also send someone a PM or an email from their Profile Page (see image below center). Or, if you know the username of the person you want to send a PM to, you can do so from the Private Message page (see image below right) accessed by clicking MyWC!
However you decide to send a PM, youll wind up in the same window. Heres a quick guide to the features that will help you make your PMs more interesting than with plain-vanilla text.

You can bold, italicize or underline text by clicking, respectively, on the B, I or U youll get a pull-down window to type the text you want bolded, italicized or underlined. When youre finished, click 'OK' and youre done! Youll notice that your text is now bracketed by (or I or U) and in the text, but the text will show up in the message you send out as bold (or italicized or underlined). If you prefer, you can just type these bracket codes in yourself instead doing it the other way.
