| Once I've painted in my dead and/or dying branches, I fill out the bush with leaf highlights that are brighter than the mid-tone green leaves in the bush.
Now I can taste the finish line, all I have to do is paint a few details in the rocks and I'm done! |  |

Mike Callahan is a Senior Graphic Artist for the world's largest manufacturer of slot machines. He is also the Graphics Department trainer responsible for the training and progression of some thirty plus artists as well as the innovation, development and implementation of new production techniques utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Mike has been in the graphics industry for over twenty years but recently has began a return to his first love - oil painting. Mike lives near Reno, Nevada with his wife, Roben and their three children. He paints subjects ranging from North American wildlife, Western themes, and most recently Sierra landscapes. |
