| Want to make your own still life setup table so you can stage your work? These are some tips I've picked up from painting workshops and classes. You will need:

| If you want fabric drapery in the background, you can cut slits in the top of the box and pull the corners of the fabric through the slits. | ![]() |
| Here is how the fabric looks draped inside the box. You could also glue colored paper or fabric inside the box to add color to the background. | ![]() |
| Set the box near a window or a lamp. Open out the flaps of the box, and turn the box toward the light source. The sides of the box and the flaps can be adjusted to control the light entering the "stage." | ![]() |
| You can also cut a window in one side of the box. When you cut the window, leave one side attached so that you can open and close it. Use tape to hold the window flap in in position. Change the angle of the light entering the box by turning the box or by adjusting the height of the lamp. Use colored plastic over the window to change the color of the light entering the setup. | ![]() |
