![]() | Unless you applied your first layers of paint exceptionally heavily, the background colors will get much lighter as they dry. You may decide to add another color to liven up things a bit. I decided to add Antwerp blue to the background. This gave me two blues with which to build greens. |
Optional techniques! |
I decided to add some experimental techniques to this demo. I used kosher salt and plastic but they are optional. You could easily create texture with other methods. Try dabbing a crumpled tissue into your paint before it completely dries - interesting abstract patterns will appear. Or spritz areas with 'rubbing alcohol'. | ![]() |
![]() | Salt creates starburst patterns. I lightly sprinkled it into the wet paint as it is more effective if used sparingly. |
I then covered some of the surface with plastic. This will make the painting take much longer to dry. You could leave the painting overnight or work on another at the same time. Practice on a scrap piece of yupo if you're not sure which experimental technique to use. | ![]() |
