Step 1: Pour the size into the tray (bath).
Step 2: Take a newspaper strip (pre-cut) and skim the surface of the size to get rid of any lint, bubbles or debris floating on the top.
Step 3: Apply the first color to the size. I usually start with the darkest color, but not always.
Step 4: Start splattering the first color onto the sizing to begin to create the "stone" pattern.
Step 5: Apply the second color. I usually use only three colors but sometimes 4, any more than this and it becomes muddy. I often go back over areas with the first or second color I used.
