Cut a 1" thick length of wood to fit the size of the box. Glue it in place with clear silicone. You may use screws if you wish but the silicone does a great job and does not risk splitting of the wood. Let dry overnight
Cut plexiglass to fit the inside of the box. This palette will rest on the 4 corner dowels.

Drill a hole the size of your pinky finger near the center edge of the palette. This will make for easier removal of the palette from the box.

Measure distance between the bottom of the box and the top of one of the dowels on the bottom of box. This will be the measurement for the handle of the palette.

Pre-drill a small hole in the center of the handle and the palette. Use a small screw to attach the two pieces.
Test fit your palette into the box. If it sits level your almost done.
(OPTIONAL) You can find these stick on rubber feet at any hardware store. The rubber feet prevents sliding if you are resting your box on a surface.
