"A Tropical Beach Scene"

All we need now for our tropical island is a palm tree.
First lightly draw in the palm tree, just simply mark the positions of the trunk and branches. Using Raw Sienna paint in the trunk, making the edge ragged. Then while still wet add some burnt umber to darken the base and one side of the trunk. This will give it shape. The easiest way to paint palm tree branches is with a fan brush. Load the brush with your green mix, hold at a slight angle and move in an arc, as you reach the end move the brush towards you to give the individual leaves. Add more leaves along each branch. Practice on a piece of watercolour paper before applying to your painting.
