We now need some light red and burnt umber.
After the strokes of light red have been applied, and before the paper dries add some strokes of neat burnt umber.
We now use a fan brush to splatter some paint onto the beach, if you do not have one a round brush will do. Mix burnt umber and french ultramarine to give a dark mix. Not too much water, needs to be a thicker mix than normal. Load the brush lightly and tap it down across your finger. The paint will be splattered onto the paper. Repositon your aim and apply several taps to give some texture to the sandy beach.
